A Journey to Concept Art

 Iris Caves - Research  Midway through the project i thought of creating a bio luminescent ecosystem as it is something i find rather interesting. In this post i will break each specimen into the research i did for it.  The "Moon Mushroom" visually is a stereotypical mushroom, with a thin stalk, a skirt and a oval cap, however my idea for it was based on the mushroom Armillaria solidipes, not visually but for the fact a specimen of this fungi is the largest living creature in the word. The mushrooms are relatively small, however the fungal rooting system, also known as mycelia measures 5.5km across. Based on this i imagined a complex cave system completely overrun but this fungi that would sprout its mushroom in spacious dark spaces in these caves.    The "Orion Grapes" were based on several different things.  Gallery Changes  The gallery of my website needed to suffer some major changes as it was made for only one project. I had quite the struggle to find how i could make a page with subcategories. Here is what i did.  This is where i started adding a gallery button in which the viewer could press on it and go directly to each of the project pages, which were two, so i was thinking of having a box for each of the projects. I started by completely cleaning the gallery page and experimenting on it. Eventually i added a sub-menu under the gallery button, however i was unaware of how to change it, so i just ignored that idea.  In here, while experimenting with the gallery boxes, i realized that perhaps having just one slider with both projects and each would lead to its own page would be far more efficient (even for term 3).  This is how i left it.  4 ACTIONS With still 2 more ecosystems to create, i must research and investigate what i would like to create, so i will search for interesting color combinations and shapes and concepts. After researching ecosystems in general i will research each individual components of the ecosystems in order to get an idea of how it works. Sometimes i will be inspired by a specific specimen, some other times by a relationship in between specimens or just create a mash-up of characteristics i enjoy. Later i will sketch and compose it all in a matter i enjoy, i will put everything in a specific order so there is space to breathe and for the names of the fictional specimens. I forgot to add the 4th part, however, it will be coloring, painting and refining. This is one of my favorite parts as it allows me to be creative and im usually glad to see what the final product is.
