Concept Art Website Research
Concept Art Website Research
Here i try to disect some of the concept art websites i found. Some are particular concept artist websites and others that are working as a hub for concept artists to showcase their work and art related news.
The websites usually work on a very minimalistic matter, a main page, a biography page, a portfolio/work one and usually one that leads to a variety of ways to contact the artist or social media page links. Most of them allowed you to slide through a showcase of main work and the most original one i found was the personal website of Julio Bencid. He made it in such a way that viewers had to slide sideways, but regarding the originality of that it made it less functional. The images it could show were always about 2,5 with one of them being cut in the middle and it just felt like a bad alternative to the others. The wesbite template i enjoyed the most was the "sections" one, The option to have a multilayered site where the viewer can pick and choose what to see really appealed to me. It also gave a more clean and well arranged look to the website.
In this research i found many websites, however the ones i present above are those that i liked the most. Within them i found some similar key features.
Key features
- Keeping text to a minimum;
- Text-wise the name of the artist should be the title and main focus;
- Very simple monochromatic backgrounds;
- Minimalistic design;
- Diferent sections for different projects;
- Well structured;
- Visually driven website;
Website Prototype (Home Page)

This is very minimal and you should have written a detailed look at how these websites work and how they could inform your own work - you have only 2 posts you should have done much more by now to catch up
ReplyDeleteGood use of vocabulary, decent analysis about the websites you researched on. It could have had better format but other research aspect is good! There was no explanation about your own website however
