Research Class Exercise
With this research i have discovered that I truly enjoy this dark mythical and occult side of art. Not only the subject itself but the artsyle in which is explored.
I also found out that something i should work much more on is the way he uses perspective and different artstyles to convey different ideas and even some type of visual story.
Research into my major project
Based on my knowledge of it, I do not know
of any game with cryptids what I think is significant to talk about. However,
there is a game which has no cryptids, but mutants. The game is called “Mutazione”,
this game has a very different style from the one I am hoping to achieve, with a
vector like style with a very personal motif. I love this game and the way it
remakes us think of the word mutant and that is indeed something I would like
to achieve with my work of cryptids.
Research through my major project
In this project I am going to research more
about the software Clip Studio paint. I will also investigate more about colour
theory, pose and composition and the folklore stories behind the cryptid
characters I chose to portray.
I have used both this software and techniques in the past, however I believe this
is a great opportunity to go much more in depth in it.
One issue that I happen to find with my usage of this software so far is my
incapability of utilising the tools I have at my disposal such as textured
brushes. I will see if I am able to better use this tools and grow my skills with
them.
Research for my major project
History wise cryptids have always existed, even if not called by that name. The human mind always needs answers, a reasoning that will make sense, and when the reasoning is not enough to answer a certain question, we often use our imagination to fill that gap. Storms and unfortunate events being the anger of gods, strange behaviours being ghosts and spirits and so on. Cryptids are that very same thing. An answer for a question that has failed to be filled with reasoning and logic, therefore humans created this unlikely and mystical creatures.
Looking at one instagram page is not actually research - you can start there but for all research your need many sources so that you can write about anything in depth
ReplyDeleteGood post but you can always add a hyperlink to your text in case if you need to mention a website. The artist research is a bit brief so slightly more information would have helped.
