Primary Research Plan
Primary Research Plan
As for my primary research i will investigate famous parietal art, what themes are there, what shapes did they use and what colours. Later i will try to recreate these colours with oil paint and explore shape carving on lino to match these. I will also experiment with paper and texture, if i should i dye the paper, paint it, mark textures into it.
From the images i found it was clear the main theme was hunting and wild life, in particular fauna. These figures had very simple shapes, usually with little detail. The most common "style" would be a coloured shape, usually shades of reds to yellow, lines or small details in white or in black. The colour pallete was always very narrow, due to their limitations in pigmented resources.

There's some good ideas here, Tiago. I'm looking forward to seeing the designs for your Lino-cuts.
